New JB4 Firmware and Software Update!
There is new software firmware available for your JB4 One of the added features of this new firmware is increased top end performance on map 1
Firmware http://www.n54tuning.com/JB4FIRM/CAN_012111.zip Software http://www.n54tuning.com/JB4FIRM/jb4...ace_012011.zip Software and firmware are paired so you need both! You also need to have the JB3/4 USB cable to be able to update the JB4 Disclaimer If you have no idea what the above means then don't do anything. Just drive and enjoy your car 1/21 alpha firmware. 1) If FutureUseD = 1 steering wheel controls are disabled. 2) Changed 1st/2nd gear boost reduction to a boost limit. e.g. enter 10psi for 1st gear and you will never target more than 10psi in 1st gear. Target will never drop below stock 7-8psi target. Pressing steering wheel volume or talk button in 1st or 2nd gear will disable the boost limit. 3) When saving laptop parameters dash blinkers will flash to let you know they were received. 4) Slightly rescaled the PID FF system 5) Added an algorithm to detect when the TMAP sensor or wire has been unplugged and force a CEL and limp mode. 6) Fixed bug with reading codes from laptop / code 3100 not displaying properly. 7) Expanded the external output / nitrous activation trigger system to include gear, advance, AFR, etc. 8) Rescaled internal AFR reading to include wideband bias for more accurate AFR ratios during sustained logs. 9) Added an algorithm to detect when a 3100 limp mode is active and force a switch to stock mapping while the limp mode is active. 10) Changed map 0 to also disable autoclear regardless of user setting to prevent conflicts with external diagnostic equipment. If you want a stock map w/ CAN functions including autoclear enabled use map 4. 11) Enabled adaptive PID / feed forward scaling. Set FutureUseD = 2 to enable. System learning is on at wide open throttle from 4500rpm to 6700rpm in 3rd and 4th gear. 12) Increased top end performance on map 1. 13) Lowered range in lean run safety. Active when rpm > 5000, TPS=100, and under boost for more than 1 second. Mike Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 02-03-2011 at 09:51 PM.. |

Figures I just installed the thing yesterday. I hate taking it out because (and maybe it's just me) that big plastic tray and the ECU box cover are pains in the ass to reinstall.
I am happy with the current Map1 so maybe I'll wait until autotune comes along. |

Jb4 is SMOOTH i love it, running 91 oct, map 1. coming from first gen jb3 version 1.3, miss 1.4,2.0 straight to jb4.
big improvement know doubt. I had little hesitation on low end with 1.3 and you feel that sudden surge turbos kick in which was great. that clear up big time. jb4 smooth throughout thottle band all way to redline. just stead power. Mods completed. jb4 KW coilovers V2 m3 front control arm kit m3 sway bar vorshlag camber plates valentine V1 blk matte frt grille carbon fiber rear trunk spoiler tinted windows. 30%/20% Last edited by 135ITT; 02-06-2011 at 07:05 PM.. |

I tried searching, but came up with too much stuff to browse through, but is there a DIY on routing the USB through the glove box?

MAP 1 is excellent. Has great pull once you hit over 2200-2500 rpms and does not stop until redline. Feels very nice on everyday driving and very good gas wise.
Totally recommend it!!

Mike, Do you know if the one I just got in from you last week has the updated firmware? It arrived at my house on Thursday Feb. 3.
If not, then I will hopefully find some time to update the software in the next couple days.
