Updated M3 M Performance exhaust info, including pic

BMW just sent me this picture of the M Performance exhaust for the M3. It's been updated since the last time it was shown at Paris Motor Show with laser engraved tips of the ///M logo. The latest release date from BMW is "end of the month" -- we'll see if that sticks.

wow, interesting. ANy performance gain? Does it sound different? Weight decrease?

Not exactly like the Eisenmann, but very close. The answer from BMW six months ago was "no, not Eisenmann", but they wouldn't say who. I'm trying to ring that info out of them. Stay tuned.

as soon as it gets in the system for us to sell i will def give the forum a discount on the exhaust but im sure even then it will be pricey. However i think BMW will be banking on a lot of worried end user out there who dont want to void their warranty but still want to get a beefier sounding exhaust.

i am not sure what it will cost yet but im sure its going to be pretty good pricing. Did you say your guy saw it in the system or did he see the same thing as us the pics and part number but unavailable and no info? as soon as it shows up in the computer i can get a price on it and tell everyone

they almost look the same as the stock exhaust in the parts online system. I actually had to ask aajami and another forum member if i was looking at the correct exhaust! i believe also in the system it isn't even listed as performance exhaust but as something generic like M3 exhaust.

But seriously, this is what the M3 should have came with out of factory. The M3 sounds like a kitten compared to the stock exhaust on the C63 AMG. And we have to pay ~$4000 to get it?

yea i feel ya, but i think its a last ditch effort to get some more money at the end of the e9x life cycle. I also wonder if in the interview with Dr. M where he states that there is a possibility of something special that could be on its way he is referring to being able to buy this exhaust. who knows at the end of the day bmw will sell it for $$$$ and there will be a line of people buying it, they know it to.

Yeah that make sense, kinda smart of them, but imagine how much more money they would had made if they came out with this a little after the release of the M3. That would probably have made more people buy this, instead of some aftermarket systems? Maybe, maybe not. But it wouldh had for sure raised the sales don't you think? If its money their after!

The exhaust was in BMW's system for a few weeks or so before it was pulled last month. That's where I got the retail and discounted pricing from.

The availability information is coming directly from the person at BMW NA who is responsible for bringing this product to market.
