will 245 45 18 tires fit a stock hight e92?
I'm looking at picking up a set of snow wheels/tires and want to make sure they will fit as they are slightly off from the recommended tirerack set.
Tires are 245/45 18 and mounted on 18x8s, +20mm offset, square set. Car is stock height, I don't care if the offset doesn't look good, as long as they will get me through winter weather. Thanks!! |

Might work in the back but they will rub in the front due to the larger diameter.

Thats what I was thinking. The trusty miata.net tire size calculator says that going from 40 to 45 increases the sidewall and radius by 12.2mm. Don't people claim the H&R springs drop the front 1 inch? That equates to almost 26mm. Am I missing something?

I don't think the rub will occur at the top of the wheel well. It will rub on the front or back when the wheel is turned.

with these offsets, I'll have 15mm more room on the inside, and only extending past the oem wheel edge by 3mm. I guess its this outside edge that will have the highest possibility of rubbing.
In the rear I'm getting an extra 22mm of space on the inside, and 16mm on the outside. |
