Anyone recently order the BMW Performance Exhaust? Back Order til Apr 2011?

Hi,

I bought the 2011 135 in Dec 10 and paid for the exhaust. But until today, my dealer saying that the exhaust is in back order and they have to order it from Germany.

Did anyone got the exhaust or didnt get it in the last 30 days? And what did the dealer say?

call around and find it yourself, then give your BMW dealer that dealers phone number.

I called one dealer they told me they dont have it and even in germany...

I also called the United BMW, even they told me it's in back order. He told me it will take about 1-6 months...

Even if that's true, how can a company quote you a timeline that can vary by 5 months? Ridiculous

I'd ask to speak to the parts manager, not some idiot who is in training.

I also talked to Tischer BMW and this is the reply:

Hi Toni, thanks for your interest - unfortunately, we don't stock this item - and BMW doesn't show it being available for US dealerships to order until April.

I thought the 2011 135 had a newer performance exhaust anyway. For big bucks, what value or gain will you see with the BMW "performance" exhaust??

that sux, this and HPF are my only two real options, guess that narrows it down

That sucks, but I think that for some reason a LOT of the performance parts are on backorder. I've been waiting on backordered shadowline grills and a couple various trim pieces that go with the performance bumper for almost 2 months now.. Pretty ridiculous. I could have just gotten grills from a vendor on here, but I had to order them through BMW so insurance would pay for it.. Oh well..

My dealer claims N54 and N55 Performance Exhaust is the same. £1,000 and 4 days delivery.

My dealer said if I order it now, I can get it in 2 days. He did mention there's a new part number for the exhaust coming out soon. It could be made by different manufacture or something small is changing.

I feel like it has something to do with the 2012's coming out. New part numbers and stuff.. Still though, my dealership ordered my performance grilles and performance bumper trim pieces mid december, and I'm just getting them now. There's no real explanation for this, other than a big overhaul of some kind for all the performance parts.. Hopefully they'll sort it out before April..
