On a related note, I know everyone hates the Contis but I got my coupe out of the driveway (which was a sheet of ice) this morning without even a hint of the traction control coming on. Either these are great tires or these cars have the best traction control on earth.

The hate is well founded.

In your case did the plow fairy and/or the sandman pay a sneak visit to your drive?

I have a house with a semi-steep driveway that starts low and goes up. I tore my entire body up in Vegas over the weekend and stood no chance of throwing a 40lb bag of salt around. I'm assuming from your post it must be the traction control lol?

btw, I'm in Cincinnati, I feel for you guys living up in the city of burning rivers right now...

We're getting thundersnow and lightening. This is a new one. Power was out for two hours and lakeshore drive has been closed for hours. Someone reported being trapped for 5 hours in their car. Crazy weather.

tonight, I went out with maybe 1/8" of ice out, but the roads are just sheets of ice. My beater was understeering its way into the snow pile on the side of the road, so I yanked the handbrake (FWD) and lightly bounced off with my rear quater panel. lol. no damage

Was just out crotch-deep in snow trying to excavate my girlfriend's GTI with her. Good god it's a mess. There's snow piled up halfway up my garage door from the wind. On the bright side, the office is closed today! Time to go watch some Top Gear.

I woke up Tuesday, work called and said work from home...I got in the truck and went to the convience store and got milk, a 6 pack of McSorley's Black Lager and a 12 of Bud Select. So I guess I followed the map above correctly. Most snow I have ever seen in Columbia!

But did you notice that the majority of vehicles involved are SUV's and Pickups? (yes I drive an AWD Mountaineer in the winter) Four Wheel makes you go, but everyone needs to be able to stop... See the 4WD's in the ditch up here a lot.

Maybe they should slow down a bit

Now the car on it's nose, that's something you don't see too often.
