N55 overheating problem solved?
Like the title states, has BMW solved the overheating (limp mode) that was common on the N54 when they released the 2011 135i? Anyone know?

I tracked my 2011 135i last weekend. I ran the car hard for 20-30 minute sessions and the oil tmep did not get any higher than what I see on my commute to work(20 miles highway).

Temp was about 60-65 degrees. So we will see how it does in the summer.

Yeah, It is currently below zero, but saturday it was really nice and a perfect day to take the car to the track. It has been a very mild winter so far.

I forgot to mention that I am running the JB3 stage 1 tune as well, so with more power you would expect increased temperatures.

Funny you asked that because today is the coldest day on record and is supposed to be the coldest day of the winter...the high/low temps today are -1/-19F
This is some freak storm though, it was almost 70f this last saturday. |
