Underdrive pulley to get heavier steering?

I really want to get more steering effort on my M3, because even in sport mode it is too boosted for my liking, especially for driving on the edge of traction on track. I've seen mentions that heavier steering is a side-effect of an underdrive pulley. Would it be prudent to install an underdrive pulley mostly for that reason? Also, if pulley underdrives power steering, wouldn't it help reduce steering fluid temps (was not a problem for me so far, though).

If power assist was a function of rpm, you'd be able to turn your steering wheel with a finger nail at, say, 5K rpm. I don't think an underpulley has an effect on steering feel. And if it does, it'd only be at idle IMO. It's all in the valve's programming. And since our cars have a PS cooler, an underpulley would increase fluid temperature, not decrease it. Plus you'd also underdrive the water pump and alternator; I wouldn't mess with that, but to each his own.

I just installed a Dinan pulley and there is no discernible change in steering effort. I too find some BMW's overboosted but the M3 is actually perfect for me in this regard.

Makes sense about pulley not influencing heaviness of steering. I'm not sure about the temperature - it seems that the fluid is heating up at high revs, so lowering the revs via pulley would reduce the heat. Anyway, this would not be a big enough benefit for me, so I'm dropping the idea.
