New to Z post
Hey everyone
New here to Z post, recently picked up an 07 Z4MC Silver Grey. Always been a BMW fan and this has been a car I've been drooling for for a while. So far I'm liking everything about it! Picked it up from Rochester, NY BMW. I've purchased numerous cars and even worked for a few other dealers, BMW of Rochester is honestly the best! Negotiation on price was calm and professional. I must have had a conversation with almost everyone in the building, great bunch of people! It made the 345mi drive that much more worth it (one way). Previous rides: 99 e36 323is Avus Blue 05 Evo MR Grey 07 335i Sedan Alpine White Also a few crotch rockets in between, I can't seem to stay away from them. I think now with the MC in my life I won't need one this summer. I'll have some pics up when the weather gets better. |

One word, in it's literal definition "Tight" I love it!
Not sure if anyway feels the same way but in 135 or 335 when your accelerating and you go over slight or moderate bumps it felt like the wheels started to wobble. It was very uneasy and I hated it. The Z is much more driver oriented and it was exactly what I was missing in the 335. I was worried that I might miss the low end torque on the 335 but honestly I was surprised at how much low end the Z engine has. |

Mine has been a breeze to maintain thus far (knock on wood). I am hoping it lasts. 2007 with 51K miles.

I think the only thing that can be related between the two cars is how much fun they both are.
What I liked about the evo was that it had 4 wheel drive and you can floor it into basically any turn and say "I can't believe I didn't crash. Again! Again!" It was such a blast. The Bad about evo: In my opinion the car was built very poorly. In terms of materials, ergonomics and structure. I felt like I was in a turbo'd, 4wd pepsi can. Which still sounds like a lot of fun! lol But the doors, radio, transmission all felt so fragile and I felt would cringe everytime I did some "spirited" driving. The engine didn't seem like it wanted to be used past 3500rpm. Im happy I kept mine completely stock other than a stage 2 clutch (best mod ever!!) because all of my friends started to get boost controlers, flashes, full exhaust, intake, etc, etc and 3 out of 4 started getting this TERRIBLE whining noise coming out of the transfer case. It sounded like someone skinning a cat! And they had numerous other problems with loud knocks coming from the engine. MC: Fast, refined, loves to be driven hard, comfortable for what its capable of, looks awesome, N/A, reliable and its just a cool call all around. |
