ESS Supercharger

So I've sucessfully convinced my wife to let me have an ESS VT1-535

The question is, which shop in the GTA would be most capable of handling the install.

Can't wait for the increased horsepower.....

No matter where you are, I would look up Nate or Ilia at IND.

I was told the installation isn't that complicated for the stage 1 kit and simple tools are needed. Everything is bolted on. Unfortunately IND is an approxiamte 8 hour drive away from where I live, and I wouldn't be able to go out there. Not really interested in shelling out an extra 4k for them to come pickup my car either.

Im from Toronto, and Im doing the 625 ess kit with a whole bunch of stuff, and I just dropped my car off with Ilia yesterday. If you are going to supercharge, do it right and give it to IND. It will be worth the 9 hour drive because they will treat you like gold. I really recommend making the trip, itll be worth it. Im still here in chicago because I wanted a day to rest before I fly home to toronto while my car is worked on, but its seriously worth it to come down. you wont regret it. they can always meet you on a saturday or sunday too if you cant make it on a weekday. IMO.

The VT1-535 is a very simple installation for a good mechanic. The kit comes with easy to follow instructions and we are always available for support. We have never had a shop or DIY customer have issues installing one of our VT1 kits.

Engineered Automotive can easily do the install. They are located in Concord.

I know Bimmersport Automotive in Missisauga and Bavarian Motors in Markham do things like that (easy to google). If not, Steve from Bavarian can definitely recommend someone - they deal a lot with modified cars and dedicated race cars.

Your right, it is essential for my well being. It wasn't easy, but she's not complaining, I gave her 2008 Escalade.

I bet IND is an amazing installer, but my schedule will not permit a trip to Chicago. Especially now, my company is so busy, I don't even have time to go the bathroom. Since my M is parked for the winter, I don't mind leaving it a shop in the GTA for a few days.

Thanks Roman. Any specials or promos going on for the 535 kit? Please PM me details.

Also, do you know any shops in the greater Toronto area that have installed the kit already? Your support is essential.

I'm not going to rush this. I don't plan to put the car back on the road until March/April. I like to do lots of research on things like this.

I know Bimmersport is an authorized Active Autowerke dealer and that they do the AA supercharger installations, so I'd give them a call and ask.

Nice choice btw, your M3 is gonna be a monster!!

Thanks man. Again, no rush on this. I'm going to take my time researching shops for the install. I don't want just any shop taking my motor apart.

Been communicating with Rocco from RMP motors. He's confident he can do the install with ease. I'm going to visit their shop next week.

Please do not go to rocco @ rmp. He is a horrible mechanic and will overcharge you like a mofo. he was going to charge me $12,000 for a damn turbo install...bolt on too. dont go, he will butcher your car.

Thanks for the heads up man. I plan to check out at least 3-4 shops and do extensive research on each one. I'm very very careful when it comes to engine work. Thankfully theres still lots of time before the car is back on the road, so I can take it slow and not make any mistakes.

Speaking with Roman over at ESS, the installation takes between 6-8 hours by a competant mechanic, so I won't let them over charge on labour hours.

I understand your line of work doesnt allow for a road trip to chicago. But Ilia @ IND can pick ur car up from Detroit and drive it chicago on a flatbed owned and operated by his own guy. He will charge you 500 and will meet u at somewhere safe to put ur car up on the truck. I spoke with him yesterday and told him I didnt want to drive it home in two weeks, and would rather have my car shipped to detroit and drive home from there. since he wont be crossing the border, he only charges 500. detroit is only 3hrs so its much easier than the full 9 to IND. you can do it that way too. and besides he can meet u on a weekend since u probably dont work weekends. good luck with what you decide, but one more tip to consider. I wanted the 535 kit too, but i figured since we all only drive in the warm months, and our region of ontario gets blistering hot in the summer, I went with a kit that had the intercooler. I thought it would be smart to have some sort of cooling. I know its double the price, but itll be worth it in the end when ur motor stays nice and frosty. up to you my man, but its something to consider. good luck with whatever you decide brother.

Thanks for you concern bro. Please contact me when you get your car back. I really want to see what it's all about. I will PM you all my contact information. I will consider your recommendation for the pickup in Detroit. I'm going to consider all possible options.

ESS swears up and down that the 535 kit will not have over heating problems. uhhhhh... now your making me nervous.....

Roman's personal car had the non intercooled set-up for awhile in the 120 degree heat of Arizona... no issues.

I've had my car through vegas heat and back with no issues...
