What is smartphone integration

Is there a demo or any literature how this works with the iPhone???

If one has an Iphone and connects it to the BMW radio via the USB will your artists and playlist appear in the LCD car display? I would assume so.

I cannot see the advancements of this new product... bmw App ????

As if we don't have enough ways to connect to social networking sites! From the look of the video you can type using the iDrive? Talk about being too connected IMO! They didn't show it but it looks as if you get notified of new info on screen while driving. I hope they hooked up at least...

I think that smartphone integration also allows for better reception as the signal is routed through the car's antenna, rather than just relying on what is in the phone.

As a iPhone (4) user and a iPad user I found this all interesting. The video looks like the Old iDrive system, not what I have in my 2009 135i.

I went ahead and did some research before ordering my car and I ended up not geeting smartphone int. I didn't want to take my phone out everytime I got in the car and pop it into the armrest. I got the iPod connection and I have an old iPod that the tuning wheelie thing didn't work on anymore and plugged it in and it stays in the car to hold all my music. I only take it out to update music.

My iPhone connects via bluetooth and works great! Of course I can plug it into iPod connecter but never do.

I hate we don't have more of the toys seen on this site ( http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...ity/index.html ). Clearyly they are just for the european market! Hopefully I can buy some there when I go over in July to do Euro Delivery of 1M!
