All dealers get it at that price. Ergo become a dealer.

I took that info with me. I'm no master negotiator, but is good to point out you know exactly what their cut is as they frown at your discount request.

Just because you know or you think you know the dealers cost does not allow to buy the car at a price that will deny the dealer making a proper profit to stay in business and to provide a level of service that we all expect.I find it quite amazing that all the people who complain about no free BMW loaners or having to pay for top up oil are the 1st people to import a car from the US or shop all over the place to save a $100.If the dealer cannot make a proper margin they will not be there when you really need their help.

Somewhat related... how much is the competition package?

I tried to get a dealer to price one out, but they insisted it's not available. Looking at all the ZCP cars in Canada, i'm assuming my dealer is either lazy, or an idiot.

My bill of sale says $5185 which I feel is good value as it includes the EDC & 19" wheels and the additional $1185 includes the different style of wheels, lowered suspension & EDC & DSC programing.

EDIT: What happened to my comments - the iphone app fails me more than not.
Essentially I said, my bill lists the same plus the $400 special order fee.

ns2000, you'll totally forget about your purchase price and discount once you start driving the beast!

How did your Canadian pricing work for ED? Is it significantly cheaper like our american friends?

Sore point. For us Canadian's MSRP = ED MSRP. No difference.

What were you expecting? (Despite the tone of the question, I don't intend to be rude)

Perhaps Gkap is from a country other than Canada where dealers are allowed to quote prices above MSRP, as well as under (i.e. US/UK, although as we all know not applicable to M3's at present).

I believe US importers can save more than just a few hundreds. No free lunch, but certainly much cheaper south of the border.

Try dealing with the resale on these US imported cars and see how much you save when you try to sell a higher end used car in Canada.I deal with this everyday in my business!

Agree 100%. No one likes to buy a used car with a "history" and people usually think something is sketchy with out of country cars. If you love a brand and can see yourself in that brand for a long time, then it may be worth it...I have a friend who has a relationship with a Porsche dealer in Florida. He buys used 911's (couple of years old), drives them for a few years and then sends them back down to the dealer for a trade on another used one. The used car market is tough enough and your throwing strikes at yourself when you import a car.
