Z4 to Altima

So as some of you know, I was involved in a very minor collision a couple of weeks ago which resulted in a battered front bumper and a dented hood. No mechanical damage, purely cosmetic. I dropped my car off at the shop to get repaired. Seeing as I can't get to work without a car, the lady's insurance who hit me agreed to pay for a rental. I received a 2009 Altima 2.5. Let me just say I now remember what it's like to drive an econobox....

BOOOOOOORRRRRIIINNNGG!!!

It feels so numb that I actually get tired while driving it. But on the bright side it's a great reality check and makes me realize how much fun my Z4 really is. I can't wait to get it back!

You are definitely correct on your assessment of the 2.5 Altima, but on the plus side, your not paying for it.

My car is stored for the winter so I'm driving the Accord now. A few weeks back, I pulled into traffic expecting the Accord to accelerate up to speed like my 3.0si does at mild throttle.

Boy - did I get a surprise. Pedal to the floor - and nuttin!!! Come on Spring!!!!

My DD is an '09 Altima 2.5S. I rather like it. It's a nice change up from the Z4MC. It makes me appreciate both for what they are. Very different animals.

I have no interest in driving the MC every day. It's too flashy, rough, noisy and tight. On the other hand those are the things I like when I do drive it. LOL

You have nothing on my V6 Dodge Charger. I think it is what they use to train people to pilot aircraft carriers...

Try my DD winter driver. A 1988 Camry four-banger. Peppy but lord it's slow. Bulletproof but the body is starting to look like swiss cheese.

That would be a YP (Yard Patrol) craft. Although very similar in performance as a V6 Charger - constant thrust, variable noise.

I drive a Nissan Titan during the winter. It is fast in a line when I want 5 MPG, but still slow around the corners. I drive it really slow to milk my 12 MPG out of it during the winter, haha.

LOL that is fantastic. And I bet it rolls as much as the Charger does in the turns.

The z4 sure is exciting compared to our other cars. I look forward to the 10 minutes or so every morning and night when I go to and return from work. It brightens the morning and makes the "finally getting off work" feeling at night that much more special.

I switch back and forth between the '09 WRX wagon and the MZ4 Coupe on a regular basis on my commute, and it is clear why the MZ4 Coupe cost 2X more than the WRX, even though on paper the performance is actually quite close.

Unfortunately the MZ4 Coupe picked up a new puncture this week and again reminded me also why the WRX is 100X better as a daily drive. Ended up waiting for 1.5 hour for a tow and missed half a day's worth of work in the busiest part of the season for me. Had it been the WRX, I would have put the spare on there and be at work no later than the usual time.

Now I gotta spend another $300 to replace a tire that only has about 800 miles on it.
