Interesting run in with the homeless
I was at the Greyhound station picking up something to find out I needed to go to Front Street. As I came back to my car I noticed a guy in raggedy clothing walking around my car slowly checking it out. Anyways, as I approached my car he struck a conversation with me. To my surprise he said, "hey man, I used to own an E46 M3 too...but boy has the world turned on me..." ..We had a brief chat about the E46 M3(which he knew a lot about). He proceeded to ask me for any spare change... I gave him what I had in my pocket and wished him the best.
As I was driving back, I had this disgusting feeling in my stomach, feeling as if that could have been me.

At first I was expecting a different story too ..that is probably one of the LAST things I would have expected in such encounters.

Or he knows that if he plays nice, you would give him some change

similar deal happened to me outside the LCBO - homeless dude was asking how many HP etc and after 10 seconds of talking about my car, he asked for some change. I said ill buy you a beer. Funniest thing is that he wasnt happy at all with the beer, I guess he is too good for heineken?

I agree. I have to admit that I was intimidated at first but after a brief chat I was pretty intrigued by this guys back story.

Ohhhhhh, I misread it. Thought he RAN OVER the homeless. That would have been an interesting story.

It can happen to any of us, we should consider ourselves lucky to be able to afford an M3 in this economy. At the same time I try to help people as much as I can. I came from a very poor family and I can remember myself looking at these luxury cars and wished my family could just have a car even ...

My guess is that drugs and alcohol may have played a significant part.

He didn't seem like he was a drug addict. But anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if you guys saw him again some where near Eaton's. Seems like thats where he likes to hover around.

I know a guy who was married to a woman, they never had kids and she never worked a day in her life..... they got divorced and he no longer had enough money after maintenance payments to pay rent in Fort McMurray. Sadly enough he ended up quitting his job and last time I spoke to him he was barely getting by. It was a sad situation. |
