HPF vs S/C'd E9x

Hey guys,
Just wanted your opinion (may be just a bit biased on this forum but still want to hear your opinion)

1. HPF (horsepower freaks) my E46 m3 or

2. Buy a E90 M3 and supercharge it.

Thanks

Turbo would probably be more expensive than supercharging.... I too have an E46 M3 and have an E90 M3 on order. Why not buy a 335i and boost it? Much cheaper route and you won't "break the bank" if you blow it up.

Ciao,

if your concern is more straightline and high numbers... i say go HPF.

Personally, i have the VT1-535 ESS Supercharger and i love it! Drives like stock but when i want to let the beast out, it's ready and willing.

HPF M3s are pretty much in a league of their own.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning toward the e90 because I need four doors. But maybe I'll just HPF my e46 and get a daily beater.

I'm more about straightline speed, not much of a road course dude.
HPF cars are fast but seems like traction is MORE of an issue than supercharged e9x.

Anyone been in both cars? That can give me a comparison?

I have seen the HPF cars in action in person at MFEST last year and all i can say is def like someone above posted in a league of their own. Super fast! however sc e90 is pretty ridiculous in its own right! can't go wrong either way

If you go HPF, I would go 2.5, much more money but worth it IMHO, the only negative about going HPF is traction on the E46 is tougher to deal with than the E90.

If you supercharge the E90 I would say you need at least 550+whp along with the DCT to run close with a Stage 2 that is running race fuel and meth. A NA E90 with bolt ons can pull on a HPF Stage 2 running pump only. However, with the HPF 2.5, even running pump only, it will be hard for any Supercharged E90 to pull away from it. I ran my buddies 2.5, both of us on pump and Meth and we were very close, on race fuel he would have easily pulled, there is a vid on youtube, but do to forum rules can't post it here.

I was hoping you would respond since you seem to have a experienced both first hand... thanks.

In terms of Z06 vette, I thought about it but may just get a used 997 turbo.

Thanks for the input guys.

I would go for the HPF. Or go for the 997 turbo. Those things are crazy fast once modded.

I'd go used 997 turbo if that's within budget.
