Snowboard + skiis + 4 people = ??
So I'm driving to Hunter Mountain, NY for some skiing/snowboarding on Saturday. A lot of people going and I'm one of several people driving.
Driver: Me Passenger 1: Cousin w/154cm snowboard Passenger 2: Friend w/full sized skiis Passenger 3: Friend with no equipment How can I make this work? I can't fold the seats down. Any ideas? And here's a random picture of what my M looked like after the last drive to/from Hunter. ~300 miles.

What other cars are in the convoy? maybe you can haul some of the groups smaller items and they in turn can take the skis, and larget items?

I wish. Don't have one.

I wonder if I can "squeeze" the snowboard and skiis flat between the two seats in the small space where they split. Is that even possible? Obviously I would protect the leather in that spot.

Snow gear carrying
Assuming yhou have the ski pass-through, you can fit a couple pair through there. But, you'd need at least some kind of roof rack for the board. You could fit all on the roof with a snowsports carrier or box. Thule has some options, but not inexpensive.

I do have another car I can use....but dammit I really want to drive my M! Half the excitement of going anywhere for me is being able to drive my car.

+1000 on renting a car
Would never take my M to anywhere remotely close to where you're going in those conditions. Packed full of people, gear, skis through the middle, boots and bags, in an E92 that sounds like absolute hell and can't be fun one bit. Thankfully we have 82 degree days coming up tomorrow and on so my car doesn't see that putrid weather. Rent a nice Suburban and enjoy the drive in comfort and peace.

It's really not going to work. I was up snowboarding with a bunch of friends last week. I dropped off my car and borrowed my folks X5 ...the E92 cannot fit people AND gear. Either or, it will not fit both. If you absolutely must drive your car, your best bet is to pick up roof rack + box.

I'm heading to Camelback tomorrow with my car as well. I'm sure you can find a way to fit the gear but it's going to be real tight and you risk damaging the interior of your car. If you plan on taking your car to the mountain more this season just get a rack.

Have your friend drive and let them solve this problem. You should get your M washed up and tuck it in the garage in the meantime while your friends battle out who's gonna have to take their car. Problem solved...

Well I just went to Circle BMW in my area and bought the full roof rack.
I'm so bad haha. As I'm putting it in the trunk, I realize I have that ski passthrough in the rear seats. Good for skiis, but I wonder if it would ALSO fit a snowboard. I do need the rack for my bikes, should I keep it? I mean it was $550 for everything (including the all weather trunk mat).
