My Exhaust System (Remus Race + Catless)

My exhaust system consists of:

Gutted Primary Cats + LX Mesiterschaft Catless mid-section + Remus Race mufflers.

Pro's: One hell of a sound! Puts a smile on my face EVERYTIME! Not even a joke, i just cant stop smiling. Everything fit great.

Con's: Since its install, i've found that since its been under 30F, the exhaust takes a while to warm up to stop the vibrations between 900-1000rpms. After 15 minutes, everything's gone. Maybe its the heat shield?

Another thing, after driving it for about an hour, the center console gets really warm. I'm wondering if i should take precaution? Its not too bad, and i could live with it.

Maybe....maybe just a hint of drone, but on the highway at 65-75, its drone free, surprisingly.

Major Concern:When its started up when cold, the car takes about 25 seconds to go to normal idle, but when it does, the rpm's kind of drop a little then go back to normal. Anything i should be cautious about? maybe Idle Control Valve? Car has 22,xxx miles.

Thats really it. Since its a lease, i just figured i would do something pretty radical to the car before it goes back in december. Definitly a great decision. Just have watch the Police, i smell a Exhaust Ticket soon....hehe

center console getting warm is normal. whenever i drive hard or constantly shift my gears, i can feel my center console getting warm as well.

i think the rough vibration on cold start is pretty normal too. as long as your car doesnt have any rough vibrations while idling at a stoplight after its warmed up, i think everything should be ok.

Technically you do not own the car, do you plan on putting the stock system back on before giving it back? If not, does the dealer care that you modded it? Just wondering how that works with a leased car.

It's at the discretion of the dealer, but most likely they will not require you to return it to stock. Don't know about the lack of cats though.

Usually it makes more sense to remove mods yourself and sell them.

You cant lease a car and return it to them in a condition where it fails an emission inspection. At least not when the reason why it fails inspection is because you gutted a cat. The OP will owe BMW a cat and once that can of worms is opened, they'll force him to replace all segmants of the system that have been altered.

Yeah would definitely need cats, but an axle-back exhaust that isn't obnoxious would likely be okay with the dealer. Cleanly or mildly modded items wouldn't bother the dealer in most situations.

He's got a history with the dealership. They're gonna lube it up and send it right in.
