Blow off Valve on the ESS 625 kit???????

I recently ordered the ESS VT2-625 7.5psi kit from IND and I asked Ilya if he could see if ESS would provide me with a custom Blow off valve for it. Im a turbo guy but since hpf bailed on the turbo e92 project, i had to go with the supercharger and so I was still looking for that blow off sound. Ilya said that ESS can in fact do such a thing, and all it requires is a slight retune and some additional hardware for mounting the BOV. I just want to know if you guys would do such a thing, or if u think its stupid that I asked for it????? Opinions people!!!

My concern is that I dont want people thinking I drive a 335i with M3 exhaust, m3 skirts, m3 everything.

All the other SC kits are available with BOV's and I personally think it sounds sick.
Don't worry about people thinking you are a poser, as if they question your ///M's legitimacy, the ROAR of the S65 will reveal the truth.

I would stick with the bypass valve. Then again, I don't care if people think I drive a 335...

Recirculate the BOV back into the intake low pressure piping.

The car runs on a MAP sensor, it won't affect tuning by any means, and it will quiet up the car and attract less attention.

I would never put a BOV on a supercharger system. first of all, it would reduce your manifold pressure so, why would you want to do that?
Secondly, I think they sound stupid and even on turbo systems, in many cases, are not even necessary. Let form follow function.

Why would you need a retune for a blow-off value?

I'm going to guess the retune is for the lack of air recirculated.

I'd do it, assuming there aren't any negative side effects.

So, you're willing to spend more and sacrifice performance so that your car sounds as if you installed a less sophisticated FI system than you actually purchased? What?

You can run a BOV with our kits. It is personal preference as it will change the sound of the kit but for those that prefer a more aggressive sound during operation it is an option.

Roman do you have any pictures or video/sound clips of the BOV system?

My car with the bypass vented to atmosphere...

I'm using the ESS bypass valve, the Vortech unit its much louder but also whistles on take off at part throttle.

It doesn't blow off as hard as a turbo car but you can hear it when driving on the street.

Well its only a 500 dollar option. And perhaps you are right, but ever since I can remember Ive loved the sound of turbos. I doubt I will sacrifice performance however, because ess does retune the ecu (for whatever reason they have to, Im not sure of the nitty gritty tuning work). I got many professional opinions before I put the order through for the BOV and was told that it wont harm me in any way, itll just sound different when compared to the BPV. If anything, a turbo system is more sophisticated and they are known for being notoriously tricky to tune/fit/install. But I do see what you are saying, and that's why I asked for opinions in the original thread. So thank you, I actually didnt think of it the way you just described, but hindsight is always 20/20 and perhaps if I thought of it that way, I probably wouldnt have ordered it. If i lose power, I doubt it will be noticeable.

There is no loss in power, it works exactly the same and it is perfectly safe. It just makes considerably more noise than the stock ESS VT setup.
