Are you going to keep your M3?
It is a little bit early for this question, but I was curious to see what everyone's plan is. So the new generation of M3 will be released in 2014 - 2015. I was wondering how many of you guys are going to keep your E9X M3s even when the new one is out? Who will sell the car before the new one is out so he doesn't lose a lot of value from his E9X car and then buy the new M3 when it is out? Who will keep the E9X M3 until he sees the review about the new M3 and then he will consider selling his E9X M3 and buying the new generation of M3? And who is never going to buy another M3 after the E9X?

Thats a long time away. I do plan to keep the m3 for at least 4-5 more years. By then who knows where my life will be. Might need a minivan, gasp!
Plus 4-5 years there will be tons of new cars on the market as well. Will have to see how the new M3 stacks up once it's out. In other words, too soon junior.

I usually keep my cars around 2 years or so..... I will probably get rid of the M by next fall.

I would keep it and turn it into a track car for the fact that it will be the last NA high-revving V8... ever maybe. Plus the F3x is going to be a porker anyways (relatively speaking).

If the next engine really was a R6 turbo-engine, then I keep the E92 a long time...if it was a V8 with turbo, then I will think about a change...
I think atm there are just rumors without any weight...we are much to far away from the release date of the F30. So I will see for myself after the F30 is released... |

Sorry for OT:
Seriously? After all the big problems you had with your car you still want to keep it? |

I ordered an 11 to replace my 08 and once we get solid information on the F30 M3 then maybe I will think about the new car if I like what I see.If I do not not keep my new M3 I am pretty sure there will be lots of other great new cars to have by then.

OP, yes it's early for the poll, but useful, IMO.
Am waiting for the announcement "201x will be the last model year of the E92 M3" to place an order, plan to keep it long term as a non-daily driver, and will definitely skip the F3x generation and all FI things M no if's, and's or but's. * Did not vote since none of the four options match the above although #4 is close provided FI becomes the generational norm for M3 motors.

I will purchase the next M but will wait one or two years once all the issue and reviews are out. Wife already thinks I am too crazy about M's so she think I have no hope.

Too soon to tell. I have owned all M3 models except the E30 - my bad! I don't particularly like the idea of a turbo. M's have always been about high-strung, high revving, slightly detuned and naturally aspired race engines. I know BMW is trying to go green and PC, but they seem to be going mainstream (ie: AMG). Not to sure I want to go there.

Maybe his point is, a V8 M3 with stuck steering and bad brakes is better than an M3 with TT I6

Problem Solved
I solved the problem a different way. I bought an X5 M for my DD and if you really want an NA V8, then the Ferrari F430 is beyond description in words that I can come up with..........Steve
