Anyone know how to remove this....
Driverside seat panel?? PLEASE HELP
I have discovered that this is the cause of all my seat squeaks..yes, the cheapo plastic....Im going to attempt to line it with some felt or something and shove it back in, but i cannot figure out how to get it off....My SA told me there are 3 torx screws holding it in place but i looked and see none. I felt around with my fingers underneath and i think there are 2 clips...tried unhinging then but it still wouldnt come off...i dont want to break it off...Anyone know how to get this piece off?? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Funny, I was just out in my car myself trying to remove it. I had the dealership put some felt, but it did not do any good really. I am even considering replacing the piece with a CF one because I hate the squeaks from the seat so much! It's definitely the worst noise I have. I'll keep messing with it and see if I have a solution, but maybe the top piece needs to come out first?

It should be the same from my 5er but you start from the front and pull slowly and it will pop out then you continue from there and work your way back... There are little plastic tabs holding it in... Just have to pop it out of there...

I tried prying that top little plastic piece off first with a flat screwdriver jamming it in there but I heard a crack so i stopped. I was able to unlatch 2 tabs underneath and I pulled up and out on it but no luck. Didnt want to break it. Threes gotta be an easier way to get this off. I mean how u gonna install the cf ones? Btw I saw the cf one from eas but the picture didn't show the top small piece. Don't tell me it comes like that only. That would look bad. Buy yea it's so bad I might buy that piece from them too. I just want one decent crack at lining it from the inside before I shell out 400$ |

From realoem:
It looks like there is at least one screw (#13) from behind and maybe one underneath (you can see a tab through the cutout). Other than that there may be more and then it probably pops off. But don't take this as gospel. The realoem site says that the whole seat takes 4 of those #13 fillister head screws -- whether they're all to hold the side piece on or if some go somewhere else on the seat I don't know. This is where one of those little mirrors with the light comes in handy. Good luck.

I just tried the front passenger, and that one popped right off, a little too easily...but....I had the dealer replace the leather on that side, so maybe they did not put it back correctly....but....no squeak from that side!
I agree that it would be nice to get it off, line it with tape, and try again before installing expensive non-functinal and barely aesthetic parts. Where do you guys get your felt tape from? It is hard to find in hardware stores, and I know you can order 3M squeak tape online, but when you finally have it apart, you want it there with you!
