Goodbye M3

So I finally talked with my service manager today. BMWNA has agreed to a buyback of my M3. It's been in the shop since Nov 17 waiting on parts for a crank replacement (see clicking noise threads).

The service manager said they would try to pay from the first incident of the noise, but I'm thinking that's kinda BS, cuz I was breaking in most of the time prior to that. Anyone have any experience with this? I kinda want all my money back.

What happens if you ask for a new M3? Do they still ask for the price difference? Even then, maybe you can negotiate on that difference.

I'm not asking for another M3... I'm done. And I put down $25K, so it's not like I was leasing/renting it.

I have no idea. I hate to say this, but I might go Japanese. I don't think I can take another BMW maintenance/repair nightmare. I love the cars, but I've owned four, and three of them have been in the shop as often as on the road (exaggeration, but it feels like that).

Search clicking... there are a couple threads with sound clips. Low RPM, erratic clicking from the bottom of the engine (not top end valve/injector noise).

Please don't say that! Stay with us jdgamble. I've had 4 and never had trouble with any of them. You've just had some bad luck. Take some time off and meditate on it. And start fresh at another dealership.

Glad to know BMW took care of it for you. Sucks that you had a lemon, but I'm guessing you'll be back

Sorry to hear about that, it sucks when you get screwed out of a lot of money. Any idea what you want to get next?
