Intake Manifold

I see all supercharger units put a new intake manifold and was wondering if anyone has tried a new manifold keeping the car NA. Im not saying use a superchargered manifold. Maybe there is some power to be made from a manifold and velocity stack upgrade.

Im sure the design from BMW has a lot more time and R&D invested than any aftermarket company can provide other than looks. When you look at the design and all of the small changes in its form you can tell BMW did their homework to make as much power as they can at all RPM's.

Both options still keep the stock internals.

The S65s intake is maximised for the rpm range the OEM car will see. Now if you are going to push 9krpm and don't care about what goes on below 4500rpm (ala race car) than maybe you may eke out a few more hp with a larger plenum. Otherwise you are just chasing a few hp with the loss of efficiency at lower rpms which will affect overall driveability.

Guaranteed loss of power if you do. Some community college slap-dick in a garage piecing something together cannot compete with BMW engineers.
