Who has the lightest M3?
OK Folks,
Ring007 just posted about how light his M3 is going to be in another thread and I was intrigued. So who has the lightest M3? Where would I get my car weighed in the SF bay area?

My Wife's E30 M3 is the lightest
The R/C version of it is even lighter. My E92 M3 R/C is a little heavier

On that note it seems this thread might need different categories because obviously a car with full OEM interior look and OEM functionality is going to weigh more than a car without. And surely there are street legal M3 track cars with just about everything removed to the point that they could no longer be reasonably daily driven. Plus, if we then add in cars that are not street legal at all, that's another whole category yet, IMHO. Look at an M3 GT2 for example - I think it weighs about 2700 lbs if I am not mistaken. And yes I know the GT2 is modified in just about every conceivable way but in theory someone could still build something like that starting with a factory M3 if they had extremely deep pockets. |

I agree with the skepticism based on the stripped car's weight. I probably wouldn't believe it myself if I hadn't weighed it. Not sure why my '11 ZCP/MDCT is soo much lighter to start with. NAV must weigh a ton.... I'll get corner weights after I'm done with it later this winter and post up the pics.

The weights seem impressive - until you notice that those are no longer passenger cars. Lightest M3 which is not getting race-prepped would be more interesting.

My '08 loaded DCT was 3550 no fuel/no driver. I have everything except extended leather and sat radio.
