Another SS II E90 - New Year's Delivery!

Happy New Year everyone. My car finally has arrived!

October order, November production, delivered yesterday on New Year's Eve day. SS II on black, with carbon leather trim.

Options (in Canadian configurations):
- M-DCT
- EDC
- M Drive
- 19" 220Ms
- Adjustable seat widths

Current mods installed in the past 24 hours:
- winter setup with 19" Alufelgen CS7 wheels, Dunlop SP Wintersport 3Ds, 235/35/19 and 255/35/19
- painted reflectors (IND)
- WeissLicht LED AEs (JLeviSW) - a very nice upgrade from my previous GP Thunders on my E60

To be installed very soon:
- matte black grilles (IND)
- painted side gills with tinted lenses (IND)

I love this machine!

First impressions thus far... quite a bit different from my E60 535i M Sport. Much less luxurious, much louder, and very noticeably smaller interior and trunk. Can't wait to unleash the beast after the first 2000km.

[I apologize for the crappy iphone pics.]

She's a beauty. Congrats on your new car. I love that color!

I ordered the WeissLicht for mine as well and yours looks great. Nice step into an M from the 535. I would imagine the amazing handling would be the first thing you notice and hopefully you think its for the better

That's the way to go! I have to get rid of the Britax Marathon and switch into a Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL for my younger one. The Marathon's just a monster.

E90 ftw!

Looks sweet Chowster. I'll have to contact IND for a set of painted reflector delete's also.

We use Britax Boulevard's and they are huge, but our son loves them over his former infant seat due to the comfort and seating position. He is forward facing now.

Rear facing though you need to have a short passenger in my A4, and I bet the same will be true for the M.

Sweet, beautiful color.

I just got done installing my matte black side gills, which was a real PITA, then you had to go and say something about tinting the turn signal lenses...now I'm thinking that will look great, but I don't want to have to take the damn things off again...

We also have a boulevard in the MDX. Even bigger than the Marathon. You'll find thy the kids outgrow the "larger" forward facing seats before they are booster-size and weight. We switched to a much sleeker Sunshine Kids Radian XT seat which is good to 65 lbs.

Plus, they have a lot less safety recalls on record, at least from what I was able to surmise in my past research efforts.
I will take a look at the Recaro seats. Just sounds cool too!

However, the sunshine kids do fold up nicely for air travel if that applies to your family.

When you get on the plane the roller unit just unhooks from the car seat and lays flat either under the seat in front or up in the overhead bin, if there's any room to be found up there. And then we use the car seat to buckle in our little one in her own seat.

This means we only have to bring the car seat and no stroller to check or lug around too. Love it!

On the Recaros, they are pretty solid units, with great 5 point harnesses and really impressive side impact head protection. I haven't found any that I like better and I checked out quite a few, especially with the rate that this kid is growing too!
Are the Recaro seats quite compact? I'm looking for a slimmer style seat that my growing kids can sit in without kicking my seat back for the entire trip.

My Britax seats work great in the MDX, but were cramped in my E60, and now very cramped in my E90.

(Provided they are ready to graduate to a non-5 point harness style booster seat in the case of the ProBooster and Vivo).

We've been using Recaro products for a couple of years now, multiple seats in 5 different vehicles, and they've been nothing short of fantastic, in my opinion of course. Others may have different experiences though.

Check out their website at recaro.com

Great info Craig. Thanks for that. I think I will try out the ProSport toddler seat! Amazon sale price $223.

More front-end pics as promised. I will be doing the PSY24W bulb change to the SV OEM version this week. That egg yolk look is terrible, especially on my SSII!

The Angel Eyes with Weisslichts are really great. Colour match with the headlights is almost perfect. In fact, the AEs are slightly whiter than the Xenons (when first turned on).

You can see the nice offset on the Alufelgens on these photos as well. They come +20 front and rear. No spacers on right now.

Enjoy the pics. Again iphone4 pics... sorry.

More mods under consideration... Tints... 50% up front, 35% in the back, same as my E60. I find it makes the car much more comfortable, both for me and the kids in the back.

Recaro seat on order! ProSport toddler seat that is.

No clear bra for me. I don't do alot of high speed highway driving, so my exposure to flying rocks isn't huge. I would definitely consider that in a major urban center like Toronto or SoCal.
