Any ramps out there between the RaceRamps/Corvette ramps and Rhino ramps?
I can't seem to find anything out there that's low profile but other than the Race Ramps. Just wondering if anything else exist out there. It's a HUGE gap in price from the Rhino ramps and Race Ramps that someone should be able to fill.

I just got the ramps from Griot's for Christmas. Nice ramps (think Greg and others here have them as well.)

Two things. Anything less than Rhino ramps would be totally useless as far as lift. Heck, even with those working space is minimal, and am a skinny guy. And Rhino ramps clear the bumper just fine on my stock M3.
Second issue is no floor jack will reach the center lifting point. I have one of the lowest racing jacks available, and although the front clears everything easily, the frame doesn't. And yes, you need to slide the thing completely under the car to reach the lifting puck. My solution? A pair of 2x6s. They give me the clearance I need to slide the jack under the car. I then lift the car and put the Rhino ramps in place. Don't like the hassle of driving a manual RWD car onto ramps myself . Good luck. |

Did you have to cut the 2x6 at an angle to roll on? I've got a low profile jack already, but would rather work under ramps than a jack. THere's not good place to put a jack stand on these cars if you're using the puck to raise the car.
Anyone with the Griot's ramps have a lowered car?

I've got the Griot's steel ones ($70) which work to back up with the extensions. Not low enough to go up forward, though.

Rhino ramps have worked fine for me for the past ~10 years. When I found cars to be too low I made some helper ramps for them, a small section of 2x4 or 2x6 with a 45 degree cut on each end:
My friend just bought some race ramps and they are nice, but just can't see where the additional $$$ went
