Question about exhaust rasp
This could be a really stupid question but I have 2.5 inch catless downpipes leading to my stock midpipes with the cats removed, a resonator delete, and the stock exhaust. There is an extremely annoying rasp between 1700-2000 rpms when the engine is under a load.
My question is if I put the resonator back in, do you think the rasp will disappear?

Quoting Berk Tech:
"The exhaust system as a whole will sound a lot smoother if you have resonated midpipes vs. non-resonated. The resonators mellow out the system for for a smoother overall tone." if the overall smoothness of the tone is what you're talking about with the rasp, then yes they definitely help

The rasp that you desribed is drone. The resonator only minimize the drone but cannot completely get ride of it. Almost all after market exhaust has this problem and just a matter of degree. I guess this is the penalty that you paid for louder exhaust.

You can't have a catless car in cali hahah but i'll have to change it up before emissions, but the initial cost of the resonator delete for me was $30 from a local mufflershop, and it was $40 to put back on. Pretty cheap

found the source of my rasp, I had about two exhaust leaks in my midpipes due to shitty welding, I just put on my agency power midpipes that I ordered, and now the car purrs so perfectly

I had a similar setup as you and mine rasped like crazy at lower rpms AR DP + secondary cat delete + PE Y-Pipe + PE Muffler Recently put in vibrant resonators and took away all the rasp Kinda too quiet now =/ (Unless i got use to the loud rasp lol) so if its really exhaust leak I might cut them again and check welds |
