Ultraleggeras + RE-11s?

Anyone running Ultraleggeras 18x8 & 18x9 on their M? Any pictures would be appreciated.
As for tires, I'm thinking of getting some Bridgestone RE-11 245/45/18 & 275/40/18. Anyone running a similar setup? Would I have any rubbing issues?

Thanks!

Depends what offsets you want to run, if you are going to run stock offsets 245/45/18 & 275/40/18 are both too tall and will show incorrect readout on your speedometer.

You want to maintain the total diameter as close to stock as possible, the correct sidewall sizes for these tire widths are:
245/40/18 & 275/35/18. (for the rear you might even want to go with 285/35/18 as it is even closer to stock)

Oh and with these sizes you won't have to worry about rubbing.

To see exactly what I'm talking about use this tire size calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Anything below 3% difference in speedometer readout is acceptable, but higher than that it's really not recommended.

I'm confused... stock tires for the M Roadster are 225/45/18 & 255/40/18, so I'm maintaining the same diameter, just a wider track, am I missing something?

Ok, I get it now, the sidewall number is not a measurement but an aspect ratio, I guess I'll go with 225/45/18 and 265/40/18 since the RE-11s don't come in 255/40/18.

Thanks!

If you have your mind definitely made up that you are going to go with this tire brand, then for rears your only choice really is the 265/40/18, but for the fronts you can still run 245/40/18, which will match the fatter rears better.

Ultraleggera 18x8 ET40 (20mm spacers on back) in black on IB with 225/45-18 tyres (unfortunately car is pretty dirty, as they are my winter wheels & it's too cold to wash them):
