335d to M3
Hi Everyone
First post on the M3 board! BMW history so far, 10 odd years ago in the UK E34 m5 (still the best!), back home to New Zealand, 328 coupe, then 545i, then 335d. now I'm back in the M car. The BMW dealers here in Auckland all went on xmas sale, so righto time for an M3 :-) I have two kids and drive around town for work all the time, and have always had dark coloured cars (black, space grey etc) - so went to find a Black DTC sedan...so off course I brought a white manual coupe! (kids love it they just trash it piling in the back! ie my little girl just goes stright over the drivers seat every time!) A post on buying a car a couple of years old with low kms prompted me to write this note, I've done it 3 times now. The only comment I'd make is make sure your covered by the main dealer warranty. Cheers stu coupe! |

Re the torque, there is nothing quite like the 335d! It's a really, really fast car.
Around town just excellent too, and great fuel economy, I 've certainly noticed how frequently I visit the gas station now. Frankly if they build a M3d I'd be first in the queue, ie, m3 looks, LSD, m dynamic mode + a tweeked d engine - that would in fact be a really great mix. (sorry to those m purists out there - now i've had both - it would be a cool cool car) That said I love being back in the M car, amazing it reminds me so much of the M5, grumpy warm up, race gear box whine, mental top end - thats why I brought it! (The gear box in particular must trace it's design back - as it feels exactly the same.) |
