M Coupe Winter Wheels

Hello,

I have a connection on getting a set of winter wheels from a firend who owns a BMW 135i. Without physically trying the tires, do you know if the following rims will work on my Z4 M Coupe?

Details taken from Tire Rack
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: +42mm
Backspacing: 5.94"
Bolt Pattern: 5-120

I am thinking there may be a need for a spacer, so please advise if this is necessary.

I think that the rims are too small for the brakes. Don't quote me though

My initial thoughts were that the brakes are too big, but I was just curious.

Although I may just give it a try and test fit them to confirm.

Yes, the brakes will be too big for those wheels to fit. I do not think a 17 of any kind will fit the front, unless is has a specialty designed barrel. The 7.5 with +42 offset would work up front though, and with a 15-20 mm spacer would work in back, but the diameter and brake clearance makes all that irrelevant.

I know a couple of guys did or still do run 17s one Z4M's on the track. I know from what they said only certain 17s will work. I think the TR Motorsports was one of them

Garage List
2008 BMW M5  [9.50]
2006 Z4M Coupe  [8.77]
2010 BMW S1000RR  [10.00]
I ran 17s on mine last winter. They JUST cleared the front calipers, so i am sure not all 17s would fit, but if you want to be 100% sure you will have to do a test fit and see.
Sorry for the crappy iphone 3G quality.
