Good tires for DD?
I got a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical earlier this year, and 10k miles (plus a trackday) later, they're already at the wear bars. At around $1200 a set, that's quite a bit to spend on tires that are primarily used for commuting (60 miles roundtrip every day). They were awesome at the track, though...
Does anyone have some suggestions on what tires to try next? I was thinking about getting a set Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus due to the high amount of miles I put on commuting. Ironically they cost more than the F1's, but I've heard they have a much much much longer tread life (they're all seasons after all). I figure for the track I can get a set of R-compound tires. Long term that should be cheaper? Has anyone had any experience with these tires? It's a 3.0si with a staggered setup, btw. |

I just bought the Falkin 452's in a staggared 19" fitment and so far love them for DD's.
They were about 700$ for a set of 4 shipped. Mounted them locally for 36$. 245/35/19 & 265/30/19". Cheers,Vinny |

+1. Softer sidewalls = better DD comfort. Better grip than stock Conti's, but you do sacrifice some of that razor sharp response, which doesn't really matter for DD. Not too expensive with the $60 rebate going on right now.

I just got a set of hankooks v12s. I would definitely recommend them for DD. Tires are quite and has good grip. You can get them for a good price too. Currently if you purchase a set of 4 hankooks v12s you can get a mail in rebate for $60

Sumitomo HTR Z III have treated me well. Soft sidewalls, quiet, and grip much better than the stock Contis. I have about 16k miles on the rears, and they still have some life left in them.
