Best Toyo Tire for the Z4M?
I won an $800 certificate for Toyo tires! But Toyo was never even a choice for me when looking at tires for my Z4M, I was deciding between the PS2s and StarSpecs. I chose the PS2s because they're the best over-all and on sale. So what Toyo tire is comparable to the PS2s?
If there's nothing really that good for the Z4M, then I'll just use this to buy my gf tires for her Mini Cooper S. Thanks!

Toyo T1R is a very good tire for our Z4M. Not too sure if it's comparable to the PS2s, but they're very decent and they will definitely last you longer than the PS2.

No doubt about it... but it melts like butter... and you'll have to change tires like you change underwear... HAHAHA! R888's treadwear is 100 while PS2 is 220! Depends what are you aiming for... street or track driving. Street=T1R... Track=R888

The M isn't my daily driver any more. It's now my weekend/fun trips/track/autocross car. In that case, should I get the R888s? My only concern is them wearing away in 5,000 miles or the tires making the car abnormally uncomfortable when I'm taking my gf out to dinner.

They make the R1R but it's not available in 275. Choses are 225, 245, 265, I would go with 245 front 265 rear. Those are the sizes on my car now and work well.

I'm running 255/35 all around for my track setup with R1R! there's a lot of grip... and it's ok for DD'ing... but decided not to.

R888's are by far the most grippy tyre i've had on the M. Mine too is a track/ week end car so don't do that many miles on the road. I use a set per year covering c6-8k miles.
BTW, they can be quite noisy |

8 months of ownership,
I have tried Star Spec 245/275, pretty good street combo, wear out after 10 track days + 8000 miles street driving. I have tried Kumho XS 245/35 in the front, good grip for 2 track days but started chunking after 3rd so threw it away ...not recommended. I have tried C51 245 front and R888 275 in the back, awesome grip, broke track record, C51 wear out after 3 track days + 1000 miles of street driving, the R888 wear out after 5 track days + 1500 miles of street driving. I am going to try NT01 or Hoosier R6 next |

I'm not an advocate of mixing tires on axles, and this is one of the side effect I've seen from mixing tire compounds on track. Unpredictable wear rate.
