Interesting....any dynos? And has this chargepipe (or any of them) been tested for resistance to high temperatures? Just curious, since we wouldn't want them to start warping would we?

Are you interested in testing the kit? They have a dyno at aFe Headquarters and I could arrange to send you down since you're up the street from us anyways!

interesting. so AFE is no longer going selling the older stage 2 kit ? glad they came to their senses that an open airbox is not an upgrade over the stock set up.

AFE's own dyno shows only +9 +7 ft lbs... barely more than a drop in.

Be interested to see some other dynos.

I'd love to dyno this against my Macht Schnell Stage 2 intake. Both seem very similar.

This is barely different than just replacing the filter...it's not like the stock tube is restrictive, and this filter is about the same size.

On the website they say +18hp +15 ft lbs. but the dyno shows the +9 +7....also the dyno with the AFE cuts out early...

I'd love to give it a go...if they want to install it and dyno it I'm game. I live in Playa Del Rey, I'll make the 45 min. drive no problem

Kevin...contact me...

^ cool, Dave! report back when you do. I just can't see the stock intake tube being much of a restriction, but I've been wrong before

Not yet, but I was planning on setting up a day to do a couple sets of dyno runs with stock intake vs Macht Schnell. I would love to try out the AFE later on when I get bored of the Macht Schnell haha.

Kevin, BTW..I was the one of the original owners of the E46 M3 kit when it came out back in 05. There were stalling issues with this intake when you went above 50mph. I found the fix by diverting some of the airflow from hitting the MAF directly and this fixed it...hence the shield AFE came up with. They sent me a prototype of the new upper cover that incorporated the shield. Then it made it into production. I wonder if they remember me...
