M3 GTS vs. Boss Laguna Seca

Ok so M3 GTS vs. Boss Laguna Seca around the Nordschleife. Both are dedicated track cars based off of v8 touring coupes. Snobs, refrain from explaining why you will never own a Ford. Car enthusiasts, do you think they'll be comparable?

Very close, likely will come down to tires. If you're looking for a 90% track car the Boss will probably be better but then again there are better track cars than big heavy mustangs and M3s.

Yes, and will probably also go into limp mode halfway down the track.

Mine was showing 295 oil temp before I backed off.

I think if you want a track car, nothing beats weaponizing an older, cheaper car. Or if you're loaded, simply jump into an Atom, Caterham, Radical etc.

Till it gets about 3 laps on it and goes into limp.I have never seen a N54 that can stay with a S65 for more than the length of a good straight. At the end of a half hour session the highest I have seen my my oil temp is 125c even on a 35c day.Usually the N54's are in limp mode after 10 minutes of the session.a 335 is a joke as a track car!

Damn, you beat me to it.

The Boss LS and the M3 looks to have equal footing on the track. I can't wait to see a review on both going head to head.

I have heard of HPFP failures in the N54, but I didn't know about the N54 going into limp mode after a 10-minute session in the track.

Just surprised to see that the N54's engine heats up pretty quick...

To the OP, id bet they would be pretty close. Similar weight, hp, tip the hat on torque to the Boss, tip the hat to the GTS on rougher tracks with the IRS, DCT might be a slight adv as well. Would be an epic battle.

335i fanboys should try lapping their cars for a few minutes before getting uppity. And of course there are cheaper cars and faster track cars for the money but the whole point of the comparison was to see how the mustang compared to the m3 when tuned as much as possible. As for the "cheap" Laguna Seca i wasn't really bringing price into the equation. Anyway, i thought it was a good matchup nonetheless.
