Coming Monday

Hey guys, my 2011 e90 w/ Competition Package M3 is getting picked up Monday, and I'm already thinking about mods. So far I've decided on Fabspeed X-Pipe, does anyone have any other suggestions? Also I've been looking at Dinan Tune & Pulley so I don't lose my warranty. Last I wanted to do a simple air filter on the car because I've heard this yields some nice gains w/ this motor. I've also been reading about RPI Scoops? But I can't seem to grasp what they are and if they're worth it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have the Fabspeed X-Pipe on my car with the stock muffler. In conjunction with the tune, the car has transformed into so much more. I love the sound of the exhaust, while not too loud, it has a great tone to it. I get compliments all the time. The one thing that bothers me is that if you are lowered you can run into issues with the cats hitting speed bumps. Even stock, I think it comes close.

I have attached a dyno chart below which shows the gains with the Fabspeed Setup plus our tune.

On my car I also have the Macht Schnell Airfilter, and the RD Sport crankshaft pulley. The filter is a nice add in, and the pulley is really up to you. They all have their own gains in different areas.

Feel free to contact me - I can make a package deal for you with the Fabspeed setup and our tune. I guarantee you will be a happy customer!

Mike

Hey Mike, I've been reading a lot about powerchips, and they do seem interesting. I'm just worried about warranty issues. I have a lot of thinking to do, thanks for the info.

Gotta agree with powerchip on this one. A filter and some pulleys will work well if you're just starting up with the modifications. Macht Schnell has a Stage 2 performance intake system if you want to go with a big bang, or you can just get the filter if you want to save your cash for another item.

Macht Schnell also carries pulley's for your car, that I can source for you as well. Just let me know what you're thinking of and I can get you all set up.

What's the "big bang"? It's only 3 hp more than the filter alone, but $400 more. Big bang to your wallet I guess.

If your looking for power, may I suggest the Gintani X pipe, Pulley and tune (OE tuning). I think the posted Dyno sheets speak for themselves. Great guys also. OE tuning rocks! RPI scoops can't really be tested on a Dyno, so who knows if they work. I have them, but purely for looks.
