I don't now if you went through the whole process of signing up, but I initially got a really high quote too, but when it came time to pay, the final amout was actually lower.

When I insured mine for $50k, single event quotes were in the mid-high $200s, multiple event quotes were in the high $100s.
I got mine from WSIB, but they only do multiple events. |

I read somwhere on the Lockton site that they were adding surcharges for some tracks where they've had heavy losses. Maybe this is why the quote was so high.
I hope nobody's putting the pedal to the metal and thinking it's no problem if they wreck because the insurance will pay it off. The rest of us are paying for that. Having insurance is no reason to get stupid. (Maybe I should change my screen name from midlifecrisis to crankyoldman. Sorry for the rant - just a little Saturday morning vent.)

Thanks for the replies all. Ontrackinsurance quoted me $200 less, amazingly enough. I'm not sure what the discrepancy was for, but once I saw the price difference, the choice was quite simple. I will probably use Ontrackinsurance for future insurance coverage, too.

Has anyone had a claim with OnTrackInsurance?
I've read of people having claims with Lockton without trouble.

You may want to contact WSIB Insurance (www.WSIBInsurance.com) about their on-track insurance program. We've used them for several years now.
