Photoshoot with M3 & IS-F
My friend Will and I decided to do a small photoshoot today locally....which ended up not-so-locally in Atlantic City. I haven't seen him in a couple of years, and since he recently purchased a Lexus IS-F we figured it was a good idea to get together and snap some pics.
He took me for a ride, and it was pretty awesome. When the rpms hit a certain point, something changed with the intake (and possibly exhaust) and the car sounded very mean and throaty. Much nicer than an OEM M3 in my opinion. His car was the automatic with paddle shifters. It had a rear view camera and some other nifty gadgets. The interior was pretty sparse, but everything you needed was right within reach. Rear seat room was more than the M3 coupe. Seats were a little tigher and hugged you. I could imagine a larger fellow would not be too comfortable. On the way there, we did a couple of friendly highway pulls to see who was faster. We all know the magazine numbers put the cars pretty close, but in the real world... Pull 1 (this video should actually be posted soon): We both started in 3rd gear at ~65mph. He got the jump and pulled ahead slowly until we both slowed down. My ricer excuse was that my windows were down....and it actually slowed me down noticably as triple digits were hit pretty rapidly. UPDATE! Pull 2: He started in 4th and I was in 3rd again. My windows were closed, but he had his AC on. I pulled ahead. We didn't get another chance since it was pretty wet/rainy out today. Anyway, on to the pics! These were snapped by a Canon 7D and either 24-70mm f/2.8L or Sigma 10-20mm. The cloudy/rainy weather caused quite a few shots not to turn out that well, but I tired to make the best of it. Enjoy! 3 piston brakes I think. I don't know too much about the car. Might be a couple of similar pics posted, since I'm also trying to learn about my camera. The more I use it, the better I get. Same with editing/Photoshop. Couldn't get the colors right in this one, so I made it black and white. Turned out quite well I think. My CF roof. Some random fun with Photoshop. Hope you enjoyed!

IS-F is a beast. sounds great too and I know exactly what you mean when u say the exhaust/ intake changed at a certain rpm. Something about paying over 60grand for a Lexus IS got to me however. I had a IS350 for 4 years and it was great, powerful, but man was it boring to drive.

Hm? That's the video I posted above. There was only a video of the first run unfortunately....the one where I lost.
