Good M3 shop's in Norcal???

Hey guys,

Curious to know if there are any reputable mechanics around the SF bay area, so I don't always have to drive to LA to find great work.

I am mainly looking for someone to do cosmetic but all info is appreciated..

Thanks

I've been wondering that myself for the past 2 months ever since I've moved to the bay area.

I've heard Beastpower Motorsports is good for parts but I don't think they do installation work.

Though, this should be moved the regional forums so if a mod could kindly move us over there...

Anyone you'd trust to install a major mod like a supercharger?

Or do the supercharger kit manufacturers have preferred installers?

Thanks for the updates.

How would one get around the smog test with a supercharger? I've been interested in getting an ESS VT1-535 but I've heard it fails the visual check. I find it inefficient if I have to uninstall the supercharger every 2 years.

I'm also curious about this.

One possibility: fill out this form and check the "It is located outside the State of California." box http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg256.pdf

Of course you need to actually move it out state briefly unless you want to perjure yourself...

I use Auto Innovations in Milpitas for suspension work. they do great work in terms of alignment and coilover installs, and they often beat Tire Rack for tires.

Ask for Orlando and tell him Kit sent you. 408.956.8004

He has worked on all my cars, from my E60 M5, to my 911 and all 3 of my M3s (e36, e46, and e90). Also, my 5 S2000s.

For cosmetic work like Clear Bra, Vinyl and other Cosmetic parts or install, contact Don/Harry at HD Auto Salon. Both great guys to work with, fair pricing, meticulous work, and overall good guys.

I am also looking for a place for performance part install though.

we can definitely supercharge you with ESS

you won't be the first one with the s/c in CA, so I am sure emission issues can be figured out.

feel free to stop by the shop or pm me if you have any questions

Aleks.

Thanks Alek,

It's only been 2 months moving to California from the east coast and I'm still trying to get my bearings on what's around the area.

I'm actually interested in a number of things for the car so I'll be PMing you as soon as I have enough posts and all the funds squared away
