2nd Day/Engine Service Light

Hey guys, i've been on Bimmerpost for a while ranging from the e92 M3 and now to the 1-er.

I just leased the car yesterday and am looking to have some fun with this car in the near future.

I woke up this morning to head down to work and my engine service soon light came up and I was totally confused on why it would happen. I checked the gas cap and I haven't pushed car TOO hard yet.

Dropped the car off at the dealer in the afternoon and just got a call that its going stay there overnight cause they haven't found what the problem is through the diagnostic test.

Overall my first impression of the car is amazing, I love that lil push it has once you put your foot on the throttle, the DCT is also amazing. Can't wait to get my car back and surprisingly I am not at all about this issue..just impatient to get the car back under my hands.

Damn man that sucks... But thats a BMW for ya....

Some 2011 owners had the light come on early because of a software problem.

Just read a post about it after searching real quick.

It happened to most people after 700 miles, mine only has about 80 hehe.

Well got the car back, it was the software problem.

The new software will be delivered on September 10.

can you keep us up to date on this new software update please?

a version number would be great, if you happen to get it from the dealer

if you don't know how already, there is a guide to check your software version in the BC menu in the forums
