Another "I wish I was an ///M" car.
Saw this as I was leaving my house today. Hmm. I always thought ///M cars consisted of the letter M followed by a single digit number in the United States....

This smacks of effort
The people who understand what the badge denotes will think he's a tool. Those that don't, are ignorant to what it even means so they are not impressed. Either way it's a lose lose situation for this guy. Shallow end of the gene pool for sure. |

maybe he has an E12 as well and just likes to pay homage to the precursor to the first M5. how about google E12 M535. besides, he is in an E60 535i. without thinking about it, you can option that car well above the cost of an M3. did the car have the M sport package on it? hell even the factory throws M badges all over non-M cars anyways. The next M3 will most likely have a derivative of the very motor in that fiver.

i don't really get peoples' intentions when they do this... focking retarded. There are some people that put supercharged badges on their non-supercharged rovers... I just don't get it!

Do a bit of research and you will see that the M535 in the 70s was well before your beloved M3. Maybe we should all laugh at you for copying the E12

If you thought the M was supposed to be followed by a single digit...you thought wrong.
Nothing a little education won't fix though... http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=3

About 10 years ago, I owned an E39 540i. It was sapphire black and had the m sport kit. i put the M5 wheels on at the time and the car was debadged only because i really liked the clean look. If you recall, the badges back then were huge and chrome. For some reason, I felt the need to put an M badge on the trunk. Not M5 but just M. I had it on for about a week when I was cruising on the highway and a real M5 came up on me. He seemed so enraged with me and felt the need to show me what his car can do. I couldnt understand why. I was minding my own business. After a few days went by, i was washing the car thinking about the incident and realized, holy shit, he was probably insulted and mad at me for the M badge on the trunk. I removed the badge that day and kept the car debadged. Since then, I recognized and understood the controversy surrounding the M badge on non M cars. Needless to say, I learned a valuable lesson back then and currently frown upon people who do this. Hopefully they'll have a similar experience and understand our issue with this.
