plain no options M3......
hi there , new to the forum , took the name naplesm3 ....i do not own one (yet).
i have been looking at the forum for some time now , i am contemplating buying a sedan M3 through ED next year (before the sedan end of production) i have a feeling that most of you like a fairly well optionned car maybe the nav or a sunroof ...etc..etc it can ad up to a fairly large price. how many of you have a plain car without one package option and no individual option at all............! so this means factory wheels , paint (black or white) no comfort access and M6 transmission. what kind of price am i looking at for a basic sedan . thanks for your input. (searched but could not find the exact answer that i am after) Erick. |

MSRP on the sedan is $55,400, Invoice closer to $51,000. With literally no options, non-metallic paint you should be able to get pretty close to the $51k. And that is US pricing, others with experience will have to chime in w/ European Delivery pricing.
Go to BMWUSA and there you can build the car to your specs and get the MSRP price.

Right! And I quoted MSRP for the car but not the destination charge ($875) and gas guzzler tax ($1,300).

There are quite a few stripper M3s here on M3post.
Most people that went this route usually save the money from options and use it on mods. Nothing wrong with it IMO. |

These cars come with clear wheels, have flecks of glitter on the paint that somehow rubs off on your shirt, and habitually lie to you about just about everything!

And don't forget USP (Universal Stripper Perfume) and a stage name like Sunny...

Thats a great price...51k for this car brand new...don't they come with good options to begin with? Or maybe just DCT and premium package and call it done there. Im thinking about a similar route. I can't afford 68k for a car.

Nothing wrong with the stripper. Just be sure to research all of the available options before you order. At least consider EDC for the love of god. Nothing wrong with the stock set up but its nice having the active suspension with the adjustability between comfort/normal/sport settings.

I have a fairly lightly optioned M3 -- EDC, premium pkg, extended leather and iPod -- and love this combination of options. The premium package is not really necessary but if you're already getting extended leather or really want BMW Assist and Bluetooth then you may as well get the package. 2009+ MY don't really need the iPod option since they have MP3 capability standard. So the only real option worth considering IMO is EDC. If I were deciding today I'd probably consider the competition package too.
Cheers.

Keep in mind, starting September, stripped M3 means,- cloth manual seats etc,.
Nothing wrong with cloth seats, those are better than leather and a free of charge standard option! You got to have the new i-drive though! Remember, most money you SAVE by NOT GETTING DCT

What makes you think leather is better than speed cloth? Even if well cared for, after just 2-3 years, leather looks horrible! Leather looks like Old Man's Wrinkled Prune Ass.... Especially Fox red,- All those wrinkles and cracks in leather...

Don't let this thread turn into another "leather/speed cloth war" SCFTW!
... and let's just end it at that.

I always had leather in my cars, and took care of surface with leather care pruducts... no matter how well you take care of it always develops those unattractive wrinkles and scuffs. Pisses me off. This time around I had enough of that... wanted something low maintenance and durable, so I researched and all I saw on Speed Cloth was only positive reviews,- so I got Speed Cloth this time getting Speed Cloth saves you $$$$ and that is a nice bonus too!
