M3 Vs Panamera

Saw a Panamera and I thought it was a Carrera dressed up for Halloween as something Ugly!

Anyways Turbo no contest, but I would argue M3 vs standard Panam the M3 would win.

The Panamera Turbo is the only car I would trade in my M3 for. It is ugly as sin on the outside equally as beautiful on the inside. The performance for a car of its size is extraordinary and is nearly as fast as a 911 Turbo S. The back will only seat two but those passengers will travel in royal comfort. It is a oasis in a desert of ordinary.

Ugly, yes. But any of them will beat an M3 around a track.

+1. The interior of the Panamera is beautiful, its so clean, modern and classic. I actual prefer it over the S class. But I just cant get past the rear of that thing.

I think the appropriate comparion would be the M3 vs. the Panamera S. V8 vs. V8. I think it would be a toss up, with the M3 just squeezing past because of its weight advantage.

You're probably right on that. The V6 just isn't a fair comparison. The S in line would still probably loose, but around a track? Hmmm... if it really does drive like a Porsche 911 it could give the M3 some trouble -- especially if you factor in the shitty brake pads our cars have.

The interior of the Panamera is just retardedly nice though. God, what I'd give to have that kind of interior in the M3..

i clear bra'ed/tinted these 3 last week. the owner of the Panamera Turbo has a M5 and he said it crushes it. i agree the interior i think the V8 S will probably catch up w/ the M after a few hard laps.

The interior of the Panamera is phenomenal! The exterior grows on you. One must see a Panamera in person to appreciate it.

Interior looks really nice from the pics, but the outside still fails in my opinion.

Seen quite a few Panamera S and Panamera 4S.

The front looks OK, but the rear is just too incredibly ugly. Looks more of a station wagon than sedan.

The shape is different. Looks good from some angles, not so good at others. One thing you can tell by seeing it IRL is that it is put together very well, just like the 911, maybe even better. The interior looks gorgeous from pictures but I haven't seen the interior IRL yet. One concern I have is that there seem to be too many buttons the same size all next to each other on the center console. At least the iDrive in the 3 and 5 series is much cleaner looking.

Cheers.

Actually, i think youre on to something! Never thought about it before but if they took the backend out and made it more like a traditional station wagon, i think it might actually look pretty good.

Saw one in person. I went to look at used Carrera 4S's before I ordered my E93 M3. I still didn't like. Clearly it has its fans, I am just not one of them.

Light Bulb. I completely agree it looks a bit station wagonish in the end.

i have to admit it grows on me and it is probably the best big size sedan right now compare to what available out there. my kids will grow and i may get one. will wait for the new m5 and see which one look better.

Seen a bunch of these and really don't like it from behind and other angles (Porsche dealership is right by me, and see the test drivers all the time). Interior is nice though but isn't that what they were saying about the about the Bangle E65 7-series when it came out - looks weird on the outside but looks good inside the car?

The key fob is just silly (the way they made it shape like the car itself).
