Need advice: 245/40-18f and 265/40-18r w/ Apex ARC wheels

I'm thinking of getting APEX ARC-8 wheels and Yokohama Advan AD08 tires for my Z4 MC.
In terms of tires, I'm thinking of 245/265 setup instead of 245/275 setup to help with understeer.

I need help in terms of correct fitment. I want a wide, aggressive look. I already have 10mm spaces (both front and rear) in the stock wheel/tire setup. I also have Dinan springs.

For the fronts, I'm thinking 18x9" et42 wheels and 245/40-18 tires. I think this is what most people do, so it should be ok.

For the rears, I'm thinking 265/40-18. I'm not sure about the wheels. Either 18x9.5" et35 or 18x10" et25... which one would be better (in terms of agressive look)?

At stock ride height, 18x9.5 ET35 rears will not be flush with your rear fenders. You'd need 10-12mm spacers. On the other hand, 19x10 ET25 will poke (outside the fenders) by about 3mm. Also 265 tires may look slightly "stretched" on a 10" rim, depending on how wide the tire actually runs. If you don't mind a little stretch and poke, 19x10 ET25 will look more aggressive. This is all at stock ride height.

Since your car is lowered. there should be slightly more negative camber at all four corners. The18x10 rear wheels poking shouldn't be a problem. With the 275's taller side wall, the risk of rubbing at full suspension compression also increases. But to get the most aggressive setup some risk taking is necessary. Even if the tires rub slightly, a simple fender roll should be able to solve the problem.

I recommend you run the 18x9" front and the 18x10" rear.

The AD08 runs wide for a street tire, so your 265 will run as wide or slightly wider then most of the 275's other's have mounted on the 10s'. Rubbing should be a non issue since many people already run 275 r-compounds on 18x10" et25 wheels without rear fender issues.

Up front, you will have no fender problems, but there is good chance the AD08's will be very close to the strut tube. The 9's have a lower offset then many of the other 9" wide wheels people run with 245's up front, so it's probably a non issue, but there's the slight chance that you'd want a 2-3mm spacer for strut tube clearance. Someone else with AD08's may need to chime in about their effective front offset.

They'll fit for sure with that combo, there's just a chance a slight change needs to be made as mentioned above, for it to fit perfectly.

Check the actual widths of the AD08 not just from the calculator. As paintpro says they're a lot wider than most comparable street tires. My OE sized set are as wide as the next size up.

I'm considering Hankook Ventus V12 instead of Yokohama. Hankook seems a better value for now.

I was hesitant to buy these at first, but took the leap and glad I did. They are quiet and the grip is silly good...and VERY reasonably priced. Go for it.

I have heard lots of good things about them.
I have also heard that the sidewalls are not as firm as some tires though.
How do you find the turn in response & feel?

I'm running the Hankooks on Apex ARC-8's on my 06 Z4MR. Went with 8.5x18 front- 235/40-18, and 9.5x18 rear- 275/35-18. No rubbing and seem to look ok to me. The Hankooks do lack a bit of initial steering response compared to the Micheling PS that were on the car but increasing air pressure to 35 psi seems to have helped that. As far as driving comfort, grip and ride quality they are excellent. Here are pictures of my set up:

I ended up with 9.5x18 for the rear since they didn't have the color I wanted for the 10x18. I have the wheels&tires installed today and so far I didn't notice any rubbing either. But for the rears I might add 10mm spacers. See the below pics. The tire is quite close in that area.

That's not an issue at all. You can spacer the wheels out if you want for aesthetics and a wider track, but it's unneeded for clearance. That is a lot of room and nothing to worry about. There's less space between your front tires and the strut tube.

In the rear with ease... running a 275 front is do able but it is tight
