m3 vs 335
so Im finally ordering a 2011 M3 tomorrow. Im going to miss my 335 when it goes back, but I know I'll love the M much more. For all you people that have M3's that use to have 335's. How does it compare power wise? I know its a stupid question, because obviously the M3 is a more powerful car, but give me some insight. 0-60 compared to 335? quarter mile compared to 335? torque? etc..

I use to have a E92 335i 6M and just got a E92 M3 6M.
I like the M a lot. Handling, braking and performance is great. Just like the 335 was, M will be my weekend driver as well and I live in the city. M is kind of driving me crazy in city traffic w/ lack of torque & etc..... I loved the instant power of the 335 without needing to rev the engine.... M3 is a great car overall in all aspects. But I miss my 335 in city driving..... You might also get flamed as this topic has been discussed to death. There are many m3 vs 335 threads out there if you search for them for additional info & discussions. Congrats on your new car.

I came from 335i 6AT to M3 6MT...my 335i was lightly tuned (sstt)...and I loved the torque yes...But even though the tq curve is different, the M is just so much faster obviously. The 0 to 60 in the M is right around what a tuned 335's time would be.
Since youre stock, you will forget about the 335 very very quickly. |

Not even for a second. The only thing I sometimes miss is the easy maintenance of Space Grey compared to Interlagos.

I'm soo excited to have a real sports car. The 335 is a great car, but the M3 is a true sports car where the 335 is just an overpowered 3 series

335 is ok to drive it feels fast but handles like crap! Power drops off like you just jumped off a cliff. But since there is heavy traffic and speed limits in the U.S. The 335 would be the more practical choice. just my 2 cents

The M3 is much faster than the 335i....from 2,500 rpm the M3 pulls like crazy, you cannot believe it
And the traction is much better in M3....1st and 2nd in 335i was a nightmare, it couldn't move because of the wheel spin...

You're saying that a 325i has better torque for city driving??

yeah, thats a stretch lmfao. When I had my 2002 325, you would hit the gas, and it would go in reverse hahahaha
