My New 2011 E92 M3!

Just picked up the new car and wow! I dumped off the black 2008 E90 M3 that is shown in the pics below and picked up a space gray 2011 E92. My first sigh of relief was good rid ins to the black car! I honestly was fed up with the maintenance associated with this car and I really like the space gray!

Right away, I deleted reflectors, added CF front and side grills, put in a high flow filter and added an Akra Titanium system exhaust. I also tinted the windows, applied a clear bra and had the front windshield plated.

My first impression is that the ZCP package includes some extremely bad-ass wheels! They look awesome in person. I was a little worried at first seeing some of the other owner pics, but they are extremely aggressive and fit the car well. From behind, the car has a noticeable difference in rear tire size that makes the car look great!

Second impression. I-Drive is so much better than the 2008 system, but I really don't need all of the menu buttons. I did like the clean look of the 2008 button with no extras, but I will get used to all of the options with time.

Akra exhaust.... hmmm, definitely feels better up to 5,000 RPM (damn break-in), but I can see how the drone will wear on me over time. The drone is mostly noticeable going up a hill or driving around town. On the freeway at cruising speed it is no problem. The car looks amazingly better from behind and I would not want to add a CF accessory to hide the pipes. Very nice look.

Coupe vs. Sedan. I can see where this will wear on me with two young children, but they are rarely in the car and I wanted a change. I really like the carbon fiber roof and the way it brings together the added CF parts.

All in all, I am very happy and I cannot wait till the break-in is done!

Thanks for all of the comments as well. Sorry that my post is a little rattled, but I have had a day trying to get everything done in a few hours and still get the kids at daycare.

From order to receipt, the car took about 8 weeks.

Compared to the 08, there is a small difference stock, but it may just be driving a new car that is free of rattles. Adding the pipe and filter definitely livened the car, but again, I never had the car over 5000 RPM. I would bet that it will fly when I can open it up.

EDC/ZCP is not noticeable around town. I would hope that there would be a measurable difference on a track, but I will not be tracking the car. My intention on ordering ZCP was centered around the wheels. The upgrade was minimal compared to adding the optional 19" wheels through BMW. If you don't believe that the EDC would benefit you, then I would just get wheels and springs after market at a later date.

Thanks- that seems to be the consensus that there is drone on the full Akra, and I've been trying to understand how the cat back only is.

How do plan to avoid the emission issues with the Akra full system or is Utah not as detailed an inspection as others?

nice can you tell me in more detail

like how many days after order the vehcle started production, and how long ship took to get to LA?

I thought the ZCP comes with "super sticky Pirellis" and not the PS2s! Another cost cutting measure for BMW or am I just wrong?

Nice car btw - but the "bigger tires" just look that way because of the 0.5'' larger rims. The tires are the same size.

Ordered in early March, build was done March 25th, arrived in CA one week ago at dealer yesterday. So, from time of end build to arrival at CA was about 6 weeks. The car sat waiting for a ship at least 10 days.

Yes, I know. They are the Pilot Sports and it may be the difference between sedan and coupe appearance from the rear.
