Dented pipes

Is this how it should be? FRHS engine compartment.

yeah, that's normal. when they manufacture the pipes those bends need the kinks. i think that's the Charge-air duct

My thought also, to disturbe the flow or to be able to fit the pipe when building the engine

These apparent flat surfaces are ofte made to allow for fitment and spacing purposes and to allow for the hands and tools of mechanics to fit by.
