FNG: First BMW, glad to be here.

Been reading the site over the last month while I was shopping an M3, so I thought I'd officially register and post a thank you for all the good info you all share. I just picked up a '10 E90 and am very pleased so far. My history is short but colorful:
'93 taurus SHO
'02 Mustang GT (full suspension, supercharger, brakes, wheels, weight redux)
'07 Sti
'09 Shelby GT500

Got into some HPDE stuff and of course occasional drag strip with the '02, but work got busy and I never seemed to have time to do the upkeep required on a car with that many modifications. So I dumped it and got the GT500 which was a beast in the power dept, but not fun to drive due to its harrowing rear suspension and weight problem. So after some refleciton I recalled in the early days I had simply wanted a 400hp RWD V8 with superb handling, so that, inevitably, led me onto the M3 despite no previous contact with the BMW world.

So here I am, I'm not planning on modding this thing. I've had the stupid fast cars before, and I'm not interested in that anymore. I'm interested in doing HPDE's at either Laguna Seca or Thunderhill and getting to know the car.

Thanks for the welcome, just took her for a cruise to watch the sunset on the water. Kept turning around to check her out instead of the sunset.

Got a set of stock 18" wheels and tires for track use. First HPDE is end of May. Think I can get it broke in by then? I sure hope so!

Welcome. Good luck on breaking it in. It's hard to keep a car like this under 5500 rpm. I'm sure you'll get it done by the end of May. Then the fun really begins.
