Anyone know the difference between Kansas leather and leathers on other BMWs?
Whats the difference between say the Kansas standard leather on the Z4 and the Boston leather on the 1-series or the 3-series? Is there an actual difference?

none... only diff is between all those and Nappa and Merino.
dakota, boston, nevada and kansas (and all the others) are regular leather, soft Novillo is from a young cow (usually less than 3 years old) softer Nappa is not from cows, it's from a lamb (usually a kid) softest Merino is basically top quality, full grain, thick cowhide. this is the leather that gets better with age and would probably outlast the car.
