Need a tire shop in NNJ to plug & patch my rear PS2.
One of my rear 18" PS2s has a nail in it and is leaking very slowly. There's lots of thread left on the tire, so I am reluctant to trash it.
Unfortunately, the dealer won't patch Z rated tires. I'm sure it has nothing to do with wanting to sell me a new tire for $450(!) Can anyone recommend a shop in Bergen County (or elsewhere) that will plug/patch this? |

Don't go to Eurotire the guy is such an asshole and very overpriced! I'll tell you that story in person Thai. For tire work in NJ go to USA wheels in Fairfield or Auto Illusions in East Hanover. However I personally would not plug a Z-rated tire on my own vehicle...just my 2 cents hope this helps Ash |

Try this place and ask for Scott they worked on a couple of members cars here including mine. They do great work.

...call me crazy but one of my tires was plugged at the "Tire Wheel and Performance Center" in Ridgewood and all has been well so far.... even at high speed. I would recommend that a pro does it though!

I track my car and I just don't know how comfortable I feel driving at 150 with a plugged tire. I'd rather spend a couple of dollars to buy a tire then to risk crashing my vehicle or personal injury and although the likelyhood is slim, it's better to be safe then sorry. Plus I hate to be the guy that sais this but, we drive $60k+ vehicles so a $400 tire won't break ones bank. |

Safety issue if you ask me..... I'm sure if you look you'll find someone who will plug it for you. You'll always find someone who will do whatever work you want, but that doesn't mean they are doing the right thing. To me this is a safety issue, I'd hate to end up in a ditch cause a tire blew out at a fairly high speed.

Ash, You gotta fill me in. I've been going to them for years without any problems. I know they're more expensive than most places. Had my wheels balanced at two places with vibrations issues. Took it to them and they fixed the issue. btw, how's the sc treatin you? Are you going to the RE bbq sat? |

I woulnt patch the tire but I also wouldnt pay $400 for a tire. I am sure you can find a local tire shop or online tire shop where you can buy the tire for less maybe around $350ish
