Cleaning wheels
I usually keep my wheels reasonably clean, but it was wet for quite a while where I live and didn't get to wash the car for over a month.
Anyways... the brake dust built up big time and now I can't get it out! I used a decent wheel cleaner with no luck, then even clay barred them but it only worked a little... What can I do? I have even scratched the wheels a little trying to get the dust off! |

I've heard great reviews on SONAX. Right now I'm using Meguiar's APC+ diluted 10:1 moderately dirty wheels and 4:1 on neglected wheels. It works great and I have never had any issue with it messing up painted or raw aluminum wheels. Just make sure you rinse them really well. Of course you will have to make sure to put a coat of sealant or wax on the wheels once they are clean.

Just bought the Sonax after the recommendation and... WOW! Worked by far better than I have ever seen before. Still a few small sections that seem to be baked on, but I didn't try very hard and the rest just rubbed off.
