Euro LCI Coupe/Vert: Turn Signals Red or Amber?
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone in Europe has seen a LCI coupe or vert on the road yet? If so, are the LED turn signals amber or red when the blink? Thanks. |

Logically and legally speaking, you can not have red turn signals in Europe. They are illegal. Euro Spec cars will have amber flashing turn signals, N. American cars will have red flashing turn signals.

Are you positive? Because the parent's F01 has all red tail-lights but the turn signals flash amber

Yes, They will look red but flash amber for Euro cars. US cars will look red and flash red due to some cost savings BMW came up with. I don't get the logic behind it personally.

When I was in Europe, all the LCI sedans had red taillights that blinked yellow when the turn signals were on.
I'd imagine the LCI for the coupe would be the same. |

Over here it's law that cars have amber turn signals. In the US they can be amber OR red. I don't know why manufacturers don't just make them amber for the whole world.

Another reason I hate the red turn signals is that, on some American cars/vans, they use the same light for the signal and brake light, so it's pretty confusing and needs a bit more effort to figure out what the driver in front wants to do. |

Yep. U.S. drivers suck anyway so making it more difficult doesn't help. You'd think with all the regulation the DOT has they'd make this change.
Drivers don't but the DOT sure does. They have dual color LEDs. Most VWs are like that as well. They just code them to blink red in the U.S. but are amber everywhere else. |
