FS: Quaife LSD - 3.46 - Complete diff

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I will sell whole diff outright for $2500 shipped (CONUS).

or trade for a 3:08.1 with either a Quaife or Wavetrac.
(If you have one of those rare bolted 3.08s I will consider cash plus your stock diff with similar mileage)

>> Diff came from a 5/09 build 6AT car and has about 7.5k miles total - about 1500 miles on it since Quaife install. I drive A LOT of highway miles and would like to go back to 3.08 gears.

I live in Jacksonville, Florida and will knock some $$ if you want to come pick it up. Still installed if you want a test drive.

Thanks for looking

The 3.46 is a shorter final drive ratio from an automatic car. It will make the car feel like it has approximately 50hp more at all times, but it will increase your RPMs by 550 in every gear. So better acceleration but 6th gear tops out 550rpms higher on the highway.

The OP made a typo when he wrote "3:08.1". It should be 3.08:1, as it's a ratio. The manual is 3.08:1. The automatic is 3.46:1. It's a multiplier effect of the gears.

Hope this helps.

Diff has been removed from vehicle and I drop the price to $2250 shipped.

Heck of a deal - This is a complete final drive unit that you will simply swap into your car. Hang on to your stock diff in the event you decide to sell your car. You will have to find a stock diff to replace your LSD with or just give the LSD to the buyer.

Retail is basically $3800 for the complete final drive.....
